Uber announced on Thursday that it will deploy ChatGPT Work across its entire global workforce of approximately 30,000 employees. The ride-share giant previously piloted the tool with 1,000 staff members earlier this year, focusing on non-engineering departments such as finance and operations. OpenAI collaborated closely with Uber to integrate the platform, which serves as an enterprise-focused AI agent for various corporate workflows. While financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, Uber intends to track usage metrics to guide future AI deployment strategies.

Judge allows NAACP lawsuit over xAI pollution to proceed
xAI's attempt to dismiss the NAACP's Clean Air Act lawsuit failed after a federal judge ruled that its gas turbines are not exempt mobile sources and that plaintiffs have standing. This legal setback confirms that AI infrastructure operators cannot bypass environmental permitting by classifying heavy industrial equipment as temporary or mobile. The ruling forces xAI to face scrutiny over air quality impacts at its Colossus data center, setting a precedent for how large-scale compute facilities are regulated under existing environmental laws.
