Jumbo Series A Rounds Surge in AI

Global startups have secured at least 114 Series A rounds of $100 million or more this year, marking the highest annual total in years and on track to break all-time records. According to Crunchbase data, these jumbo rounds collectively raised approximately $33 billion, with AI-focused companies capturing more than 70% of the volume. Notable examples include River AI raising $1.2 billion and Xpeng Robotics securing $900 million. While US-based startups account for roughly half of these deals, the trend indicates a broader global shift in early-stage investment behavior toward massive initial funding rounds.
